Hi my name is Pete and I am the owner and trainer at Phys Training.
When i came up with the idea of Phys Training many years a go i wanted my military background to be the foundation. Focusing on a mixture of physical and mental toughness and how that is so important in all of our fitness and lifestyle goals.
Then my fond interest in the science behind training and nutrition, means I am always keeping up to date with the latest evidence based research. Creating workouts for my clients that will be as effective and as beneficial as possible.
I served 6 years in the Royal Air Force as an infantry soldier, travelling overseas to the Middle East several times. These experiences taught me the value of how hard work, no matter how hard, is the crucial ingredient to success. You must leave your comfort zone to progress within life and fitness.
Dedication is the second most important aspect, If you cannot dedicate time and effort to your goals, you will always struggle to achieve them. Having a PT can help you with that, it is one of the most beneficial things you'll get from the sessions.
As a personal trainer I feel it is my job to make sure you reach your goals, through keeping you on track with your progress but also through showing you how to push yourself to the right limit for your body to change and adapt.
In my time of being a personal trainer, my clients have obtained all their goals. Not from me shouting and pushing them like a crazy drill sergeant, but through motivating and teaching them. There is more to it than just eating right and exercising, it's a psychological battle too.
If you are taught how your body works and how to overload it correctly, you will then know how to make it change and work to how you want it.
You can achieve way more than you think, let me show you how and you may even surprise yourself.
Hi, I am Valeria and I am a personal trainer at Phys Training.
My journey to becoming a PT has been anything but linear. As a kid, I was definitely not the athletic one, so growing up, I always made sure to stay as far away as possible from gyms and sports clubs.
Things then started changing in my early 20s as strength training and fitness in general became more and more important after my relocation to the UK, when I was eager to find a place or a community to belong to.
Over time I found purpose in supporting others improving their own relationship with fitness, body image and food, using my own experiences to support a positive and sustainable change.
And this is, to me, what being a PT really means: connecting with people, keeping them accountable to their new routines and goals, whilst also helping them overcome any barriers they might have.
So if you have tried to get into fitness before but didn’t get any results; if you stay away from gyms as I used to just because you feel like fitness is not for you; or if you are looking for a place where you can safely train and unlock your potential, then look no further.
Whether you prefer online coaching or in-person sessions, I’d be happy to be part of your fitness journey and support you along the way.
